Sunny Syracuse ???

Well, 4 days in a row of sun and warm temps. YAY !!! Let's keep it coming. Our summer tennis season begins the Sunday the 15th.The outdoor courts are in great shape and we are looking forward to a great summer of tennis with family and friends. I finally got to mow my lawn last weekend. USTA League play is in full swing and the club is still busy throughout the summer months. Even though we lose some indoor play during the summer months, we do have those who would rather play inside. Ok by me...

Choosing a grip size for your racquet shouldn't keep you up at night. The old standard is to measure from the tip of your ring finger of your hitting hand to the second lifeline on your palm, The other way is to hold the racquet with a forehand grip and if you are able to slide your index finger between the grip then you are in the general size you need...HOWEVER...it seems that most people are going to smaller grips because it allows for faster racquet head speed. I for example used to use a 4 5/8 gripsize and have switched to a 4 1/2 and am even considering going to 4 3/8 next year. Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal use 4 1/4. HEY maybe if I use that size I can be like them? Only in my dreams!!! Whatever size you choose, just be careful that it is not too big or too small...you want it to be just like the little child in the Three Bears story...."Just right"!!!

See you at the net, Hopefully...
Chuck
